From Tabletop Practice to Piano Playing

by John Douglas | Apr 2, 2019 | Piano Lessons

I periodically like to acknowledge a piano student of mine for hard work and accomplishment.

Heavyn has been taking lessons from me for a little under 2 years. When she first got started, she didn’t have a piano at home. This didn’t stop her however. She practiced on a tabletop, moving her fingers silently as she practiced instead. Fortunately, after several weeks her family got a piano for her to practice on. I have been impressed by Heavyn’s dedication from the beginning. After less than 2 years she is playing Chopin Waltz in A minor and a movement from Beethoven Sonata in G Major opus 79. She will be performing the Beethoven in our upcoming Spring Recital Saturday May 18th. She has worked hard to get to where she is now and I am very proud of her and happy she chose me as her teacher.

I hope to recognize more of my students in the future.
