We sometimes get asked how Rancho Piano got its name and thought some of our students and customers might find it interesting.
A Brief History
Prior to relocating from Orange County to the Temecula Valley in 1987, our business had been known as John’s Piano Service. We were new to the area and thought it would be good to rename it to something more appropriate to our new home. At the time, Temecula consisted mainly of the area known today as Old Town and was surrounded by the 97,500 acres called Rancho California. Back then Rancho California consisted of miles of open space, rolling hills, vineyards, cattle and horses. Horses actually ran wild through the fields and oak trees where the Promenade Mall is now located!
Our Piano Business Takes Off
In 1987, less than 27,000 people occupied the area making us wonder if we would have enough business. But when we ran an ad in the local Yellow Pages it seemed like our phone began ringing off the hook. Fortunately many people in the area wanted their pianos tuned or piano lessons so the customer demand was very high almost from the start.
Why Rancho Piano
We liked the sound of “Rancho” and named our studio Rancho Piano. When Rancho California incorporated as a city in 1989 the community chose to rename it Temecula. By that time however, Rancho Piano had become established and we have kept the name ever since. We have been providing piano lessons, piano tuning and piano repair services to our growing community for 31 years.
