  Had the pleasure of having John tune our piano. We were able to talk prior to the visit, keep in mind John's phone number is a landline so no... read more texting but he did respond back to my voicemail. His prices for tuning the piano is very reasonable and he takes his time. He took nearly 2 hours and didn't charge anymore but I felt bad so I provided a little more for his time. A major plus for me was he came a few minutes early for the 9:30 am appointment. Upon completion he played a couple of pieces which were amazing! He did mention that the piano was definitely out of tune since it's been 3 years.

We discussed the possibility of me taking lessons from him since the piano doesn't get played as much since our daughter will be studying abroad. Based on his pieces he played, I am even more interested! If you are in the area I highly recommend John for your tuning. I will add a review once I start my piano lessons!

  My mom picked up an old Yamaha M202 from a thrift store for my son to practice when visiting. We called John for a tune up and overall condition check.... read more He did an amazing job, spent ample time with the piano, tuning, inspecting and explaining. It was impressive to see how experienced, knowledgeable and caring he is with these instruments. We are very happy with the service and will gladly rely on John for future ones. Highly recommended.

So he really spent a lot of time and energy tunning my piano. I really appreciate his dedication and skills. He really does give wonderful service. I would absolutely recommend John Douglas next time you need a piano tunner. He is also a very nice gentleman, professional and very reasonably priced.

It had been years since I'd taken private piano lessons and being recently retired, this was on my "bucket list". I didn't realize all I had forgotten over the years and actually never learned correctly (fingering comes to mind!). Since taking lessons again, Mr. Douglas has helped me to rediscover how much I enjoy playing the piano and I can't say thank you enough! Highly recommend for anyone at any age.

He definitely knows what he's doing. He also does piano lessons that I would highly recommend based on his knowledge and watching him play. Great all around experience:)

  I have a family heirloom piano that needed some tuning. It had been years since it had been tuned and I didn't know the first thing about what to expect.... read more I reached out to John with an email, and he was very quick to reply. He asked me some questions to get a sense of what condition the piano was in, and quoted me a surprisingly low price range. He said that the price would fall within that range, depending on what all he had to do based on the piano's actual condition. John provided me with multiple days/times he would be available (both of which were timely). He communicated succinctly, was professional, and had great follow up. On the day he arrived to tune the piano, he did a fantastic job, explained his work, and gave me the most reasonable price (the lower of the quoted range, which I didn't expect). He referred me to someone else who could help with some restoration and further work (outside of John's scope). Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend his work. He was forthright, professional, and skilled at his craft.

John could well have led me astray, and I would have been none the wiser, but he stopped- mid tuning- and explained that my instrument was not going to hold the tuning, and in fact required thousands of dollars of refurbishment. He then helped me figure out what to do with the piano, in a very kind manner; he was sensitive to my emotional attachment to the instrument. And he did not charge for the tuning he had attempted! John is a skilled, kind, truly decent guy.... I recommend him highly.
